Urban Jungle has no Bears

this is Goldie, she's one of the two main characters for a story that I'm currently writing. Shockingly enough I'm ACTUALLY writing this.

it's the story of Goldie and Eddie a pair drifting vagabonds, homeless wanderers, and hobos. Mostly about Goldie, through the eyes of Eddie.

“I love cities, ya know?” she took another drag of her cigarette, “they’re big, and they’re full of interesting things, and there aren’t any bears in them at all!”

“what about zoos?” I asked, “there are bears in zoos”

She exhaled with a dismissive snort, the cloud of smoke briefly obscuring her doll-like face. “Oh sure, in zoos, but they’re locked up where they can’t cause any trouble there. And even if they DID get out, the police would come and ‘BAM’ shoot em all dead as a doornail”

“I hate bears. If I had my way, I’d kill every bear in the world, every last fucking one of them.”

“so Eddie-boy,” She turned to me, “I bet you’re just aching to ask me why I hate bears so much, ain’t ya?”

I shrugged, “Do you want to tell me?”

“No. Not really” she turned away again, her eyes growing distant. There wasn’t much I could say to that, so I just sat there, watching the sun set over the city.
